چکیده

This paper presents a simulation based method to predict the amount of frequency interference in a passive type RFID system. To judge occurrence of frequency interference, we use a parameter POI (probability of interference) that depends on several factors such as multiple access method, emission mask, the number of channel, etc. Due to its dependence on several factors, a Monte-carlo based simulation is suitably used. Through the simulation, we draw minimum separation distance between two readers and examine performance degradation due to aggregate interfering readers. Moreover, we present a reader deployment strategy based on the average POI of active readers operating in some area. key words: RFID, POI, FHSS, LBT

Dense RFID Reader Deployment in Europe using Synchronization

For a dense RFID reader deployment, such as in a warehouse, where hundreds of readers will be positioned in a building, the interference between all these readers must be studied carefully to avoid disruption of operations. Strict RFID regulations and standards have been imposed, trying to address the problem of reader collision and also the problem of RFID devices interfering with other device...

Interference Analysis of Uhf Rfid Systems

In this paper, RFID reader-to-reader interference is analyzed from the point of view of interrogation range. To evaluate RFID interference quantitatively, the new figure-of-merit, interrogation range reduction ratio (IRRR), is defined. In order to show the usefulness of IRRR, its value is calculated in various environments. Additionally, the calculated IRRR values are verified by measurements u...

Interference Avoidance Algorithms for Passive RFID Systems Using Contention-Based Transmit Abortion

The performance of a passive RFID system in a dense multi-reader environment is limited by both reader-to-reader interference and reader-to-tag interference. In this paper, we formulate a practical RFID system model which takes into account the non-linear demodulation of the tags and the transmission spectrum of the readers. Using this model, we derive a novel linear programming formulation to ...

Efficient tag detection in RFID systems

Recent technological advances have motivated large-scale deployment of RFID systems. However, a number of critical design issues relating to efficient detection of tags remain unresolved. In this paper, we address three important problems associated with tag detection in RFID systems: (i) accurately detecting RFID tags in the presence of reader interference (reader collision avoidance problem);...
